Электронное двуязычное издание: историко-литературный фотоальбом «Новониколаевск-Новосибирск» уникально, потому что в настоящее время не имеет аналогов в Новосибирске и Новосибирской области.
Издание представляет собой систематизированную коллекцию исторических и современных фотографий, отражающих все этапы становления и развития нашего удивительного, неповторимого города.
Фотоколлекция сопровождается интересными выдержками из текстов сибирских писателей, поэтов, журналистов, историков и государственных деятелей.
Проект осуществлен при поддержке администрации губернатора Новосибирской области и Правительства Новосибирской области.

Введение
Стихийно образовавшийся Новониколаевск (с 1926 года Новосибирск) получил статус и, соответственно, был признан безуездным городом только в 1903 году. Но вот что любопытно: открытки с видами Новониколаевска появились в продаже на станции Обь уже в 1900 году, а попытка выпустить первый фотоальбом, который так и назывался: «Альбом видов города Ново-Николаевска. 1-е десятилетие», была предпринята в 1904 году.
Организатор альбома, благодаря которому мы сегодня можем видеть, как начинался Новосибирск, — Николай Павлович Литвинов — человек удивительной судьбы, который по праву считается первым летописцем города.
Первые снимки датируются 1893 годом, и в коллекциях некоторых краеведов насчитывается более полутысячи открыток и фотографий Новониколаевска. Такого количества видов своего города не имел даже губернский Томск. В этом угадывается проявление любви первых жителей к построенному своими руками городу на Оби, их патриотизм и честолюбивая уверенность в славном будущем своего детища.
3амечательны традиции, заложенные Н.П. Литвиновым, — не случайно наш фотоальбом открывается портретом славного земляка. Мы приняли эстафету от него и постарались проследить зримую столетнюю историю превращения Александровска — поселка мостостроителей — в безуездный Новониколаевск, а далее — в Новосибирск, столицу Сибири и городской округ, так же как Николай Павлович проследил десятилетнюю историю города от просеки главной улицы до стройного ряда домов первого проспекта.
Этапы развития города совпадают с этапами экономического роста и политических переустройств, которые отразились на архитектурном облике Новосибирска. Вглядитесь в лица живших и ныне живущих в нем людей, в стремительно меняющуюся композицию города, попытайтесь увидеть тот особый колорит, которым отличается Новосибирск от сотен городов мира.
Мы старались сделать издание не только красивым, но и познавательным. Выдержки из произведений писателей, научных трудов историков и воспоминаний старожилов позволяют почувствовать энергетику живших и живущих в нашем городе неравнодушных людей, их особенную любовь. Темперамент первостроителей — искателей счастливой жизни, приехавших строить Транссиб со всей России, может быть, и является главной причиной столь бурного, стремительного роста Новосибирска, который сделал наш город уникальным. Нет более в мире города, которому понадобилось менее семидесяти лет, чтобы стать не только городом-миллионером, но и центром административно-политической, экономической и научной жизни огромного региона — Сибири. Планы-карты города, размещенные в начале каждого раздела, — яркое тому подтверждение.
Наш город действительно красив — вглядитесь в него. И мы надеемся, что наши дети и внуки не только изучат историю города и сохранят славные традиции земляков, но и приумножат их для пользы и во славу Отечества.
The electronic bilingual edition – historical and literary photo album “Novonikolaevsk-Novosibirsk” is unique due to the fact that so far there has been no comparable edition in Novosibirsk and Novosibirsk region.
It represents a collection of vintage and contemporary photographs reflecting all stages of formation and development of our wonderful and unique city.
The photo collection is provided with interesting extracts and quotes from the texts by Siberian writers, poets, journalists, historians and public figures.

Introduction
The city of Novonikolayevsk (named Novosibirsk since 1926) was established spontaneously and received a status of the city only in 1903. It is interesting that postcards with city landscapes of Novonikolayevsk became available for sale in the Ob railway station already in 1900; and an attempt to issue the very first photo album, which was titled «The album of Novonikolayevsk’ landscapes. The first decade», was taken in 1904.
Owing to the album’s creator, Nikolay Pavlovich Litvinov, we can now see the beginnings of the city of Novosibirsk. Litvinov was a man of an amazing destiny, who is deservedly considered to be the city’s first chronicler.
The first pictures were taken in 1893. In the collections of some local history scientists there are more than five hundred postcards and pictures of Novonikolayevsk. Such a big amount of picture postcards of the city was unusual even for Tomsk, which was at that time the principal city of a province (“guberniya”). This could be the manifestation of love on the first settlers’ side – love to the city on the river Ob, which they built with their own hands, their patriotism and ambitious confidence that their brainchild will have a glorious future.
The traditions, established by N.P.Litvinov, were remarkable. No wonder our photo album opens up with the picture of our renowned countryman. We have picked up the baton from him and tried to retrace the visible centenary history of the transformation of Aleksandrovskа — a village of bridge builders — into Novonikolayevsk, which was not an uyezd city anymore; and later into Novosibirsk – the capital of Siberia and the urban district. We will try to retrace this history just as Nikolay Petrovich retraced the decennial history of the town from the little patch of the main street to the orderly row of houses standing on the very first avenue in the city.
The stages of the city’s development correspond with the stages of economic growth and political reorganizations, which found its reflection in the architectural image of Novosibirsk. Look closely into the faces of those who lived and are currently living in the city, into the swiftly changing composition of the city; try to see that special coloring which distinguishes Novosibirsk from hundreds of other cities in the world.
We tried to make the issue not only nicely designed, but also informative. Extracts from some works by different writers, from scientific studies of historians and the memoirs from old residents help to feel the energy of those not indifferent people who lived and who are living now in our city, and their extraordinary love. The temperament of the first builders — seekers of a happy life who gathered from all parts of Russia to build the Trans-Siberian Railway – could, indeed, be the main reason of Novosibirsk’s rapid and impetuous growth, which made our city unique. There’s no other city in the world which would require less than seventy years not only to rich the population of one million people, but to become the center of administrative, political, economic and scientific life of an enormously big region of Siberia. The planning maps of the city which are placed in the beginning of each chapter are the vivid example of this fact.
Our city is, indeed, very beautiful – just look at it. And we hope that our children and grandchildren will not only learn the history of the city and keep the great traditions of our fellow countrymen but will also enrich them for good and for the glory of our Motherland.
